A Thermal Holiday in Summer? The Aquapark and Cool-Pool Guide

A Thermal Holiday in Summer? The Aquapark and Cool-Pool Guide

A thermal holiday is not just for winter. Summer at Efe Termal: the aquapark and cool pools by day, Yoncalı's healing thermal water in the evening. Session times, rules for children and day-visit details in this guide.

Why Do We Always Picture Winter When We Hear "Thermal"?

Say "thermal holiday" and most of us imagine the same scene: snow outside, a steaming pool inside. Yet that is knowing only half of what thermal water can do. The mineral-rich water of Yoncalı, reaching close to 40°C, flows just the same in summer; its power to loosen muscles, boost circulation and wash away the day's fatigue knows no season. The only thing that changes is the shape of the day: in winter the thermal pool is the centrepiece, while in summer the cool pools and the aquapark rule the daytime and the thermal water becomes the evening's reward. At Efe Termal, the summer programme is built precisely on this balance — sun and water games by day, healing warm water by night.

The Star of the Day: The Aquapark and the Cool Pools

In the summer months, the heart of the hotel moves outdoors. Thrilling water slides, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, shallow areas reserved for children, and an outdoor swimming pool open from 08:00 in the morning until 23:00 at night — the most enjoyable way to spend the hottest hours of the day is keeping cool. The aquapark runs in three daily sessions: 10:00-12:00, 13:00-15:00 and 16:00-18:00. In the one-hour breaks between sessions, the slides and the filtration system are meticulously checked — safety is the invisible yet most important part of the fun.

Break Time Is Not Waiting Time

When the aquapark pauses, your holiday does not; the programme is designed exactly for these moments. Throughout each break, the outdoor pool, the traditional Turkish hammam, the sauna and the salt room remain open. Spending the midday break on the warm marble of the hammam and returning refreshed for the second session, or reading for half an hour in the salt room's airway-soothing atmosphere — these are among our guests' favourite little summer rituals. A summer day where moving from slide to hammam, from pool to salt room is this effortless offers a variety that a classic seaside holiday simply cannot.

The Evening's Reward: Thermal Water, Summer Edition

A day of sun, slides and swimming tires your muscles more than you notice — and this is exactly where thermal water's summer role begins. When the evening cool settles in, a body lowered into Yoncalı's healing water surrenders the whole day's fatigue within minutes. Since the thermal pool is calmer in summer than in winter, you usually enjoy the water with space around you and no need to hurry. If you wish to add a massage on top, the order is the same in every season: thermal water first, then the massage — on warmed, softened muscles the therapist's touch reaches far deeper. Waking up rested for the aquapark the next morning is the most tangible proof of this evening ritual.

Summer Notes for Families with Children

The aquapark delights children most of all, but knowing a few rules in advance makes the holiday even smoother. For safety reasons, children aged 0-6 cannot use the water slides; the children's pool and the shallow areas are safely open to them — the thrill of the slides begins a little later. Necklaces, rings, watches and bracelets must be removed before entering the aquapark area, for your safety and the slides' alike. If you spread the sessions across the day — morning session for water games, the midday break for lunch and rest, the afternoon for round two — children reach the evening happy and sweetly tired. Our tip for parents: claim the breaks for yourselves. While one of you is at the outdoor pool with the kids, the other can breathe in the hammam or the sauna.

All Included for Hotel Guests, a Single Ticket for Day Visitors

If you are staying at Efe Termal, there is no arithmetic to do: the aquapark, outdoor pool, thermal pool, hammam, sauna and salt room are free to use throughout your stay. For those coming from Kütahya and the surrounding area for the day, we offer a day-visit option covering all these areas with a single ticket — just tell us the date and number of guests, and we arrange the rest. On the hottest days of summer, even a one-day escape from the city makes a difference; but those who stay the night and experience the evening thermal ritual and the calm pool hours of the next morning tend to push their return date back by a day.

Is it unhealthy to use a thermal pool in summer?

No; thermal water's muscle-relaxing and circulation-supporting effects are independent of the season. In summer it is usually enjoyed in the cool of the evening or early in the day, while the outdoor pool and aquapark are more pleasant in the midday heat. As in every season, if you have a chronic condition we recommend consulting your doctor.

What are the aquapark opening hours?

The aquapark is open in three daily sessions: 10:00-12:00, 13:00-15:00 and 16:00-18:00. Between sessions there are one-hour maintenance breaks for the slides; during these, the outdoor pool, hammam, sauna and salt room stay open. The outdoor swimming pool operates from 08:00 to 23:00.

From what age can children use the slides?

For safety reasons, children aged 0-6 cannot use the aquapark slides. The children's pool and shallow areas can be used safely by this age group.

Is the aquapark included in the room rate?

Yes. In all accommodation packages, the aquapark, outdoor pool, thermal pool, Turkish hammam, sauna and salt room are free of charge.

Can I visit the aquapark for the day without staying at the hotel?

Yes. Day visitors can use the aquapark, outdoor pool, thermal pool, hammam, sauna and salt room with a single ticket. Simply reach us on WhatsApp or by phone for current prices and availability.

What should we bring in summer?

A swimsuit, towel, swimming goggles and sunscreen are enough. Since jewellery such as necklaces, rings and watches must be removed in the aquapark area, we recommend leaving valuables in your room.
